Welcome

Stourbridge Magic Club was formed in 2006 by John Milner, owner of The House of Magic (U.K.),80,Brook Street, Stourbridge, (Tel No. 01384 373209, Web Site, www.houseofmagicuk.com, together with Students from his School of Wizardry based at the shop. The club is open to anyone who wishes to join, age or sex is not a barrier. The only requirement is the ability to perform one trick, an interest in magic, and a willingness to learn. If you are not able to do any tricks but are still interested in magic and joining the club, then you only need to enrol at The School of Wizardry, where you will be taught tricks by John, and how to perform them to the best effect. You will also get the opportunity to attend lectures by guest Magicians. Enrolling at the school does not mean that you have to join the club. Joining the club though, gives you the opportunity to stand up in front of an audience and perform a trick at one of the shows we do. We all know how nerve racking it can be the first time, but each and every other member of the club has passed through that stage, and know what it feels like to be up there on your own, and you will get lots of support from other members of the club.
The School of Wizardry meets every other Wednesday at the shop at 7pm, and the Magic Club meets every alternate Thursday at 7:30 in the Lounge Bar of the Garibaldi pub in Cross Street, Wollaston. (Just round the corner from the shop.)

The club supports two charities, Action Heart Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit, (based at Russells Hall Hospital), and also the P.D.S.A. Several of our members have received treatment at Action Heart, and one of our Magicians is a vet for the P.D.S.A.
We are lucky in the respect that we also have as our Patron, the world famous Magician, Ali Bongo, who recently visited the House of Magic to give a lecture. We sincerely hope that sometime in the future he will return, and who knows, he may even attend one of our shows as a member of the audience.
